This is a unique, bold-leaved plant, excellent for specimen effect in the border or in containers. Plants form a bushy, upright clump of coarse green leaves, bearing huge umbrella-like heads of crimson-red flowers in midsummer. Despite its height, consider moving this towards the front of the border to make the most of the unique effect. Excellent for cutting. A self-seeding biennial; allow seedlings to grow to perpetuate the planting. This is NOT the species of Angelica used for its edible stems.
