Oak tree with a conical form when young, becoming broadly oval with age. Narrow, oblong, glossy, dark-green leaves have smooth margins. Insignificant flowers (catkins) are followed by rounded acorns that only ripen the second year. Fall foliage is a yellow-brown to red-brown.
An oak with an abnormally shaped leaf, this cultivar is best grown in a rich, fertile, well-drained soil.
