Crimson buds open to single deep pink flowers in spring before the leaves emerge and are followed by small bright red crabapples. Foliage is cutleaf and emerges purple and maintains this colour throughout the summer, then turns bronze and orange in the fall. Attracts birds and pollinators.  

Use as a specimen, in small groups or mixed with other cultivars. Crabapples have visual appeal in the spring with their abundance of showy flowers. Added appeal lies in the fall and winter with their colourful fruit that is attractive to birds.
