Native to Ontario, this understory tree/shrub has tiered, horizontal branching. Wide, flat-topped clusters of white, fragrant flowers are produced in the Spring, followed by clusters of bluish-black berries in the Summer. Glossy green leaves turn red in the Fall.
Grows best in medium moisture and a well-drained soil, however, they will tolerate a wide range of soils. Thrives in some shade and in full sun if roots are shaded.
