A small upright, spreading tree with a dense, rounded crown.  Greenish-white flowers appear in spring followed by winged seed that turn a showy red in the summer as they mature. The foliage is green in the summer, then turn dark red in the fall.  

Non-native invasive species.

An interesting specimen tree for the landscape with its colourful seeds in late summer to fall. Best growth occurs in areas with cool summer climates.
