Narrow evergreen with sharply ascending branches, producing a columnar shape.  Needles are dark-green, stiff and in bundles of 2. Perfect specimen in a smaller landscape or for narrow screening.  Low maintenance and slow growing.

As with most pines, this unusual plant grows best in a well-drained soil. If necessary, pinching the candles in mid-spring will encourage a more compact form.

To improve looks and airflow, these plants would benefit from periodic 'combing' (use your fingers) to remove dead material.
