Its contorted branches and stems add visual interest to the winter garden.  Twisted, blue-green needles are soft to the touch and turn to golden-yellow in autumn.  It forms an irregular, pyramidal crown.  Prefers moderately moist soil.

This low maintenance plant needs no pruning, it can easily be kept smaller in size with yearly light pruning, typically done in the winter.
