Weeping Mulberry (fruiting)Morus alba 'Pendula'
Height: 3-4 m
Width: 4-5 m
Zone: 3
Exposure: Sun
This weeping mulberry has arching branches that droop to the ground. Insignificant greenish-white blooms appear in spring followed by small, edible red to black fruit in late summer. Foliage is dark green in summer changing to a dull yellow in fall.
Forming a mounded, umbrella-like crown, this weeping cultivar adds visual interest both in the summer and winter. Fruiting mulberry have edible berries that are attractive to birds, however, the fruit litter on the ground can be quite messy. Plant in an area of the landscape where foot traffic will not bring fruit stains into the home.
