The Dwarf Mugo Pine has a mounding, compact habit with short, dark-green needles.  Use in rock gardens or mass plantings.

As with most pines, this unusual plant grows best in a well-drained soil. If necessary, pinching the candles in mid-spring will encourage a more compact form. To improve looks and airflow, these plants would benefit from periodic 'combing' (use your fingers) to remove dead material.
