Panicum Prairie Winds® 'Apache Rose'

I love the presence of Heavy Metal, Karl Forrester and the boldness of Overdams around the garden. However, my 2 three year old Panicum Apache Rose flanking a pagoda draw me most every day. Loving Apache Rose, I could not resist adding two more good size plants to the garden a few weeks ago. Planted against the deck, I can see their purple tops fluttering just above the deck floor from the patio door. In a few years, they will reach 48" tall and be waving their arms andheads. How does Apache Rose enchant me? When I see those bright purple seed tops fluttering delicately in the slightest breeze while her slim bluish strap foliage stands still, like she is dancing to her own internal music. She is delicate, elegant, colorful. With a strong upright stance, she does not break in the wind and survives our winters. Nestled between these two now is a young Echinacea Pow Wow Wild Berry. With the contrasting blue/green leaf colors and bright pink petals and pinky purple seed tops moving in the wind, the enchantment grows.
