Upright and conical in shape. New growth is golden, fading to green throughout the season. The golden hue provides visual appeal. In the spring, the upright purple cones highlight the new growth.

This large specimen makes a great focal point with its golden foliage retaining its colour better when planted in full sun. As with many conifers, this fir has a low tolerance for wet or poorly drained areas.
